Bharatpur, India, July 13, 2022: Lupin Human Welfare and Research Foundation (LHWRF), the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) arm of global pharma major Lupin Limited (Lupin) has worked for over 3 decades on the social and economic well-being of families in Bharatpur and Alwar. Specifically, the Foundation has striven to strengthen local value chains and promote community-led development through Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and Community-based Organizations (CBO).
Bharatpur and Alwar remain at the center of the Lupin Foundation’s efforts. Some of the initiatives of the Foundation include beekeeping, horticultural clusters and livelihood hubs of nonfarm vocation (for example, Tulsi mala, Stone carving, Gems polishing, pottery and bangle making).
The Lupin Foundation now intends to focus equally on Livelihood and Lives/Healthcare. With the Livelihood program, the Foundation will continue an intensive approach to work in select blocks of Bharatpur & Alwar for landless, artisans, small and marginal farmers with the aim to provide sustainable livelihood solutions. In order to also improve health outcomes for the marginalized populace, the Lives/Healthcare programs of the Foundation will strive to improve health outcomes and quality of life while strengthening the healthcare system. Based on identified areas of national importance, the initial focus will be on cardiovascular and chronic respiratory diseases (COPD).

Through the years, Lupin Foundation has created deep impact and has positively changed the lives of the people it has touched. What began as a project of uplifting 25 villages in Bharatpur economically, expanded to over 5000 villages across 9 other states and 23 districts across India.
